Stone's father says the hog weighed a staggering 1,051 pounds and measured 9-feet-4 from the tip of its snout to the base of its tail. If claims of the animal's size are true, it would be larger than ``Hogzilla,'' the huge hog killed in Georgia in 2004. (AP Photo/Melynne Stone)

Boy Bags Hog Said Bigger Than 'Hogzilla'
By KATE BRUMBACK
MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Hogzilla is being made into a horror movie. But the sequel may be even bigger: Meet Monster Pig. An 11-year-old boy used a pistol to kill a wild hog his father says weighed a staggering 1,051 pounds and measured 9 feet 4, from the tip of its snout to the base of its tail. Think hams as big as car tires.
If the claims are accurate, Jamison Stone's trophy boar would be bigger than Hogzilla, the famed wild hog that grew to seemingly mythical proportions after being killed in south Georgia in 2004.
Hogzilla originally was thought to weigh 1,000 pounds and measure 12 feet long. National Geographic experts who unearthed its remains believe the animal actually weighed about 800 pounds and was 8 feet long.
Regardless of the comparison, Jamison is reveling in the attention over his pig.
"It feels really good," Jamison said in a telephone interview with The Associated Press. "It's a good accomplishment. I probably won't ever kill anything else that big."
Jamison, who killed his first deer at age 5, was hunting with father Mike Stone and two guides in east Alabama on May 3 when he bagged Monster Pig. He said he shot the huge animal eight times with a .50-caliber revolver and chased it for three hours through hilly woods before finishing it off with a point-blank shot.
Through it all, there was the fear that the animal would turn and charge them, as wild boars have a reputation for doing.
"I was a little bit scared, a little bit excited," said Jamison, who lives in Pickensville on the Mississippi border. He just finished the sixth grade on the honor roll at Christian Heritage Academy, a small, private school.
His father said that, just to be extra safe, he and the guides had high-powered rifles aimed and ready to fire in case the beast, with 5-inch tusks, decided to charge.
With the animal finally dead in a creek bed on the 2,500-acre Lost Creek Plantation, a commercial hunting preserve in Delta, trees had to be cut down and a backhoe brought in to bring Jamison's prize out of the woods.
It was hauled on a truck to the Clay County Farmers Exchange in Lineville, where Jeff Kinder said they used his scale, recently calibrated, to weigh the hog.
Kinder's scale measures only to the nearest 10, but Mike Stone said it balanced one notch past the 1,050-pound mark.
"It probably weighed 1,060 pounds. We were just afraid to change it once the story was out," he said.
The hog's head is being mounted by Jerry Cunningham of Jerry's Taxidermy. Cunningham said the animal measured 54 inches around the head, 74 inches around the shoulders and 11 inches from the eyes to the end of its snout.
"It's huge," he said. "It's just the biggest thing I've ever seen."
Mike Stone is having sausage made from the rest of the animal. "We'll probably get 500 to 700 pounds," he said.
Jamison, meanwhile, has been offered a small part in "The Legend of Hogzilla," a small-time horror flick based on the tale of the Georgia boar. The movie is holding casting calls with plans to begin filming in Georgia.
Jamison is enjoying the newfound celebrity generated by the hog hunt, but he said he prefers hunting pheasants to monster pigs: "They are a little less dangerous."
Associated Press writer Jay Reeves in Birmingham contributed to this report.

This poor animal died a horrible death only because he was big. He only had two five inch husks ( like this could hurt someone?) I say we send the boy and the father to Iraq. Let em try and hunt something that shoots back. Of course they wouldn't go. Cowards and idiots only go after the weak and the defensless. They want to kill so badly let em go to Iraq. Jerks hillbilly Jerks.
To have an 11 year old say how good he feels after killing something that suffered is really sick and brutal. To kill something for no reason other than its unusual is the true sign of lack of a intelligence and education.
And to support it shows how ignorant and stupid mankind really is.
And then we have the hillbilly rednecks which are one step below that.
My brother Daryll and my other brother Daryll and my other brother Daryll.
Second, I have a very good software programming, server admin, and computer netwroking job thank you.
Third, I haven't hunted in years.
Forth, I am too old to go over. But........I am armed (along with my friends)... in case they try to bring the fight to us. You will be hiding your little chicken self in a hole somewhere because you don't have the guts nor the weapons to fight back.
Fifth.... He didn't kill that hog for no reason. Look at all the meat they will get from that thing!! Oh...you are probably vegetarian you poor thing.
Last.... Apparently you are the one who is stupid and ignorant because you don't seem to understand what 5 inch tusks on a hog like that can do to someone. It could have torn them to PIECES!! Those hogs are quite dangerous. So quit calling people names like the little 10 year old you appear to be.
OTOH, one of the dumbest things on the long list of dumb things that our federal government has done is, as alleged in the Wall Street Journal some years ago, paying people to hunt wild pigs in the national parks, while prohibiting the local residents from hunting them for food. It's nice to see that there are still places where that is not the policy. It's remarkable that we taxpayers pay for food for the poor, but prohibit people from using the food that is right there free of charge. Perhaps that, as much as anything we could name, reveals the nature of the liberal attitude - the most important thing is to maintain control over the people, keep us dependent on the government for all means of production and distribution. Isn’t that consistent with the policy of letting the cost of education and health care rise much faster than the rate of general inflation, hoping that people will not be able to pay for what they need, and will vote for the party that promises the most? As Mencia said in an interview on LPR, people vote for the Democrats because “Who gets us the cheese?”
And, of course there are people who have an irrational fear of any firearm and anyone who might own one, and that's quite understandable for some of them but, as Monty Python might say, "straynge" people, "loyin" about on talk shows is no "baysis" for a system of government. I've only met one of those liberal professors who write papers about social problems, but he said that he and his colleagues, being good liberals, and gun control being the acid test of liberalism, applied for a grant with the plan that they would go through the statistics and establish the foundation for gun control once and for all, and they found instead that there wasn't any. That was some years before John Lott drove several big nails into the coffin of gun control, and it's nice to know that Lott isn't the only professor who has had the courage to publish what the facts showed, not what they set out to prove from the beginning.
My goodness you are a touche feelie elite feminine liberal coward ,, hiding in a dark cave calling others names, while you sneak around peeing in your panties and sipping white wine coolers , everyone knows you put the seat down on the toilet BECAUSE you have to sit to pee , as you have NO manhood

You call him a coward for calling other people names when you call him names 11 times. You contradict yourself too much. I'm beginning to think you ARE a 3rd grader, because you seem to have the mindset of one.
