40 Years and Still Happy

June 3, 2007 / by JOEZsREPUBLICANPAGE

Forty years ago 6/3/1967 ,my beautiful bride and I exchanged vows and we became husband and wife,, most of her friends and some family told her it would never last , that I was much older then her and way to worldly and wild, BUT here we are a lovely daughter and two wonderful grandsons and terrific son-in-law we have had GOOD times and some rough times (due to my drinking,, been dry over 20 years now) I don't think we will get another 40 ,, but 10 more would be nice and you all can send us GOLD !!!!!!! ha ha

Happy anniversary, my friend, and may God continue to bless you and your wife and family. In this day and age, your long marriage is a rarity, but it should serve as a model for people who just don't get the concept of making a committment to someone else. I'm right behind you at 39 years and counting. Last but by no means least, congratulations on 20 years of sobriety! You are quite a guy and I'm privileged to know you.[SMILE]
